All I Want for Christmas

This year, there is not a lot that I want for Christmas...but there are a few things:
Actually, Tim and I have purchased these already and they will be here in January.

*I also want a new scarf (it is a beautiful scarf with an owl on it).

*I want this to be a wonderful FIRST Christmas with Lyllian.

*I want SNOW!!

*I want some new Dansko shoes (I actually know I am getting these).

*I want a highchair ( I actually know I am getting that too-ha!)

*I want a bigger house-someday...

*I want to just enjoy Christmas and the time we have to visit with the family.

Really, I don't think I want much-but nonetheless, it is my list. I am sure there are plenty of things missing, just ask Tim, I am sure I said "I want, I want" about more things. I just don't seem to remember them the way he does, ha!

This is and will be my absolute FAVORITE gift this year, Thank you, Lord for such a wonderful present.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Here Comes Santa Claus

Lyllian has gotten to visit Santa twice this year. She visited him once at Zoo Lights and then today we went to The Avenue to see him again. I didn't really like the way the zoo one turned out. It was cute, but I wanted one of her looking at the camera too. She did great, but I forgot my camera. I had it and then changed out of the vest I put it in, so I left it at home. We took some pictures with Tim's phone, but I really wished we had had the camera. Oh well! It all turned out well.

**Sorry the copyright is over her sweet little face, I have not scanned in the ones we bought yet.

Veggie Tales

Lyllian tried carrots for the first time tonight. She did exactly what I figured she would do. She has this look of confusion. I don't think she necessarily disliked them, I just don't think she really knew what to think of them. We attempted to give her one teaspoon and actually she ate it pretty well, I put about 1/2 of it in her mouth. She spit out some and whatnot. I was pretty impressed. Her ped told us to start with orange veggies since they have the most nutrients, so we started with the carrots. We will try these for three days before we introduce something else. I bought some squash and sweet potatoes to try too. After Christmas, before I go back to work I am going to start making our own baby food. I can freeze it, it will be cheaper, it seems super easy, and I personally feel like it may be healthier for her. Her daddy did take some video of her, so make sure you check it out...

Go Pisgah Go!

Lyllian had a great time at the Mt. Pisgah homecoming game!  She was such a good girl that she FELL ASLEEP during all the festivities!  Her "Aunt" Susan gave her this adorable Pisgah dress and she wore it with great pride!!  Of course, her outfit is set off my her big maroon bow-ha!

The only reason I talk about Lyllian's big bows so much is because everyone gives us a hard time about them.  We love them though, and so does everyone else, they just don't want to admit it-ha!

Step Two

Step One: The Christmas tree (see previous post) is up and decorated.

Step Two: Outside decor is up including this new wreath I made this year:

Step Three: The rest of the indoor decor. I have this on the piano, and I really like it, but the other side has a collection of snowmen, I think I am tired of. I don't really know what I want to put on that side, but I know I am tired of the snowmen. In the middle I am going to out Lyl's Christmas picture.

On another note, Mom is home from surgery and doing well. She ate with us in the kitchen tonight. She still can't move her knee because of the brace, but she is coping. She has physical therapy starting this week. They will come to the house for 2 weeks and then she will start going to them. For 6 hours a day she has to put her leg in this contraption that will keep her leg moving. She says it is painful at first, but only because her leg begins to get stiff. Please continue to pray during this recovery time and the recovery process.

This is a picture we took of Lyllian right around Thanksgiving:

Starry Nights

This sweet girl is looking very festive for our trip to Starry Nights at Shelby Farms. Tim's mom came down with McGuire to take us to Starry Nights. Lyllian LOVES to look at lights and has been enjoying the lights on the Christmas tree, so I figure she would love these too. She fell asleep on the way there, but we had to sit awhile in line, so she woke up. She loved it. She looked and looked at all the lights. She was very well behaved and did a great job!

After Starry Nights we went over to Slim Skillets to eat fried chicken. If you live in the Memphis area, or you come here to visit, you should totally check this place out. It is family style dinning and you have the choice of fried chicken or fried chicken. It comes with all the fixin's and it was DELISH!! Lyllian was great through dinner as well.

When we got home to get in our jammies she put on a show for Tim's mom, she was talking and laughing and she finally put her little toes in her mouth (Tim's mom wanted her to do this at Thanksgiving and she wouldn't). It was great!

We had a good visit and McGuire got to play Tim's XBox 360. He is asking for one from Santa this year. Hope you get it, McGuire!

O Christmas Tree

I love my silver and red Christmas tree! I love decorating it and then being able to look at it all season long. I love to turn off the lights and just have the tree on. The ambiance the tree exudes is amazing!!!

Chirstmas Decorations...

So, I spent all of last weekend decorating for a friend and my mom. The following picture collage is at Dora's house. I love it!!! I am working on my own house this weekend.
