WOW! Time Flies

Lyl loves Mommy's heels!

This year was Tim's class reunion.  If he told me once, he told me a million times to remember that he went to a small high school in a small town and it would be nothing like mine.  Now, I LOVED high school!  So, in turn I also LOVED my class reunion, but I went to a large high school with a large graduating class-you know so EVERYONE didn't know your business.  Man, was I in for a surprise at Tim's!
Just to brag on my hubby for a second, he was Mr. West TN for football 3 years in a row, he was also offered multiple college scholarships, as well as, being mentioned in the paper (if not an entire article about him) each week after the game.  In other words, he was the bomb-diggity in football.  I know, I would make a good football wife, but he was tired of it after college-sigh.
Ok, so back to the point.  You would've thought Tim was still IN high school and still IN the paper every week.  It was like he never left, now for my hubby, this was torture, he hates being the center of attention.  But, for me, I could NOT be prouder of him!  I like to tell everyone, he is my trophy husband-lol!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Sweet Girl

We had Lyllian's birthday party at the park this year. It was wonderful!!!! I used the theme Teddy Bear Picnic, because this girl loves her teddy bear. Because of the large number of pictures we took, we decided that collages would be better way to show them.

Sprinkler Park Fun

This past summer we had the opportunity to visit the Sprinkler Park in Collierville a few different times with some friends.  Lyl wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but after awhile, she was right in the middle of it all. What is better on a hot summer day than a picnic lunch and a water park?!?!?

Redbirds Baseball

We had a BLAST at the Redbirds game this year!  This is Lyl's 2nd time to ever go to a baseball game (the first time, she was still teeny tiny) and she was mesmerized.  She sat with Pops most of the time and LOVED it!  She especially loved the playground they have for the little ones, but she did not like that the big kids were playing.  It looks like more games will be in our future next spring!

Going to the Chapel

I LOVE showers! You know wedding and baby showers. Today I was lucky enough to host a shower for my brother's finace'. It was a BLAST! It had a "Love Bird" theme and I had so much fun getting it together.
A little "Love Bird" Wedding Chapel to welcome you at the door...

The Yummy food!

More yummy food and cupcakes (which I guess is technically food, but they deserve their own naming).

The buffet table with the "Love Bird" tree...

"Please choose a Love Bird from the tree and write good wishes or advice for the couple."

I was so excited I got to be apart of this special day and this special time in their lives! Love you both!

I love her SNOW much!

We had another snow day, today! Now, as much as I like to have a day off from work, I really don't want to have to go to school until July! Anyway, despite my negativity for a split second-we did have fun today! Lyllian and hubby built a small snowman-apparently on our street, we get all of the sun, so our snow melted FAST!!! Lyllian had fun helping her daddy! Luckily, I bought carrots at the store last week, so we had a nose. I was out of buttons though, so we had to use grapes for the eyes!

Now, I just wonder if we can just make it a 4 day weekend, I mean, why go to school on Friday?

I hope you all had a wonderful day in the snow and stayed warm!

Losing It!

So, I started Weight Watchers, again. Actually, I guess I never stopped. I just quit going to meetings, but I was still paying for my Monthly Pass. This time, however, I have someone from work going with me. Plus she told me I was her motivation-now I can't let her down!

Last night was the first weigh in since I re-started. It also concluded my first FULL week on the new Points Plus program. Which, by the way, is easier for me than the other. Anyway, I LOST 5.6 lbs!!!! I was so excited!

Two other girls I work with also signed up for Mem-fit Boot Camp! Yep, I'm gonna do it! Groupon had a great deal yesterday and we jumped on it! I am pretty excited!!!

I know this is kind of a boring post with no pictures-sorry! But I will keep you all updated on the progress!

Go, Fight, Snow?!?!

For those of you that don't know, I am the cheerleadering sponsor at Pisgah. I have been for a few years. Anyway, we have always gone to UCA Nationals in Orlando in February. Well, this year we decided to go to NCA Nationals in Dallas, which happened to be the first week in January, no biggie.

We left on a Thursday, we were suppose to return on the following Monday evening. We finally returned the next THURSDAY afternoon!!! Yep, you read that right, THREE extra days!!! Now, I love vacations and I will lengthen a vacation any time, but not without hubby and the sweet girl.

I have a LONG story about what all happened, but I won't go into all of that, because-really-do you care? Anyway here is the short version:

We arrived in Dallas at 11:30 Thursday evening with 18 kids and 5 adults, we were EXHAUSTED!!! We had flown from Memphis to Atlanta and then on to Dallas. We get to the hotel (the Sheraton) and are waiting in line (the other sponsor and myself) and this gentleman (using that term VERY loosely) comes up to us and says are y'all with the group of 800 that are checking in? I said well actually it is 23 and yes, we are. He then asks us if he can skip us in line, what?! Are you kidding me, we tell him no, politely and tell him there is a second line that may be moving faster. He gets pissed, asked us where we were from, we say Memphis, he responds obviously not from Texas. He then walks behind a post and calls us B***hes. Yep, welcome to Dallas!

All goes well from here, the squad does great, they place 2nd in cheer, 5th in dance, and 3rd in performance. That is until Sunday night...snow and ice are coming through and our flights have been CANCELLED until Thursday morning! I head downstairs to see if we can extend our reservations because we can't get home, not because we want to extend our vacation. I was told no by both the reservation manager and a supervisor. When I tried to explain the situation again to her, she replied "We didn't make you stranded" I asked if she could help me find a hotel then, and would they be able to provide me with transportation since we had none and the only jackets our kids had were their cheer warm-ups (the temp was suppose to be 55-60 the whole time we were there)-her reply "we don't offer that service" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! I was livid at this point. I find a hotel that can pick us up and has room for us. The next morning, I speak to the hotel manager and tell him what happened. He was embarrassed and says they could've let us stay one additional night, yes they were booked, and they would have been able to provide transportation. They will be getting a letter to their home office from ME!!! The manager bought us all lunch in a very nice restaurant and had the chef make one of our kids a birthday cake (which happened to be on that day).

We get to the new hotel (The Hotel Lawerence) in Dallas. It was built in 1925, but is in good condition. They were EXTREMELY nice to us and the kids. The kids think they see a ghost that night. The next morning they do research and find out the hotel is on the list of haunted hotels in Texas and was featured on Ghost Lab. They spent the rest of the time talking to EVERY employee they could find to ask about it and trying to find ghost. Oh the stories they will have!

We finally made it home Thursday, in time for the kids to change into cheer uniforms, get to school for the game and for the 8th graders to be recognized for 8th grade night. All in all it was an adventure, not one I care to be on again in the near future, but it was fun.

Oh, we also took them to the mall where they could browse, Gucci, Coach, Tiffany's, and True Religion. They loved it! And we went to The World Aquarium in Dallas-AMAZING!!!
