8 weeks and counting

I went yesterday for an 8 week check up.  I went by myself and hoped the whole way they didn't do an ultrasound, not that I didn't want one, I just wanted Tim to be there for it.  They didn't, all they did was blood work.  I got all of the paperwork for the hospital-how fun!  We don't go back until the middle of January, which is when we get to do the ultrasound to hear the heartbeat-we are so excited and can't wait.
Baby Bogue already has Christmas presents at his/her grandparents houses and at his/her great aunt & uncle's house.  Tim and I are getting each other a glider for Christmas, guess we have no more that are just about us-ha!

Sick, very, very sick

I have been fighting a cold/infection since last week.  I left work early on Wednesday and came home and slept ALL day.  I haven't returned to work yet, but I am going to the doctor today.  I hope everything is ok, I know my immune system is down right now, but I'm still a little scared.  I just wonder if the doctor will tell me to go back to work tomorrow.  I haven't been hungry for anything except soup and baked potatoes for over a week now.  The good news is I haven't had morning sickness the past few days, it will probably come back, knowing my luck.  Tim has been really good to me through all of it.  I have moved from the bed to the couch for three days now and I am very ready for some RELIEF!!!

Pregnant

Yep, that's right, we're pregnant!  We are so excited!  We are 7 weeks along.  We went to the doctor last week.  It was so exciting, we got to see the heartbeat.  It is the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life.  Tim can't wait to be a daddy and he has been so good to me through all the morning sickness and now this cold I can't get rid of.  We will keep everyone posted with the progress.

Copying Stephanie with Menus

I am going to try this monthly menu thing that Stephanie has inspired me to do. We will see how it goes, Tim and I are both trying to lose weight and I hope that this will help. I'll try to keep you posted on how it goes...

Having trouble with uploading the calendar, I will continue to try.

Vacation is O-V-E-R

It's been awhile, but nothing interesting has happened in my life lately...
Yes, how depressing, we are back from Florida and I already miss it.  I am not a huge fan of salt water, but I am a huge fan of not having my days scheduled out for me!!  It was nice waking up to coffee already made all week (Tim's parents get up much earlier than the rest of us) and being able to head straight to the beach and read.  The water was cloudy because of hurricane season, but we still had fun!  We spent 2 days at Cherokee Sink-it was nice to have fresh water to swim in for awhile.  Tim and I spent one day driving over to St. George's Island and looking around, the homes there are GORGEOUS!!!  I am glad to be home, but it also means it's time for work again.  Normally this time of the year when school supplies get put out, I am super excited to start back, but this year I am not ready yet.  I think it is because I have spent my entire summer in the house nursing my feet back to health.  The nursing paid off, yesterday I was released from the doctor's care-it's all up to me now.

Enjoy the pictures:

2 days til VACAY!

Well, I think it has been a few since I last posted-so sorry for those of you who read for pleasure-ha!  Anyway, Tim and I have had a busy week or so.  Last week we started it out with our anniversary-it was great-even our cake was still delicious!!  Then my mom's birthday, followed by mine, then on the 3rd my aunt went into labor and little baby Colton was born.  Then we went out of town to my in-laws for the 4th and a combined birthday party of me, my bro-in-law and Tim's grandmother.  We had a good time-thanks for asking ;).
I went to the doctor on Monday and I was given permission to wear tennis shoes!!! YAY!-no more special ed shoes!!!  We leave for vacation in 2 days and I must start packing and doing laundry.  I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!!

Here it goes!

I have decided to take a big leap of faith.  I have always wanted to sell the scrapbooks, cards, journals, picture frames, gift baskets, etc that I enhance (I won't say make, since I don't actually start out with nothing).  I have always dreamed of having my own little shop.  Since I don't have the money to start it and no bank will probably give me a loan (thanks college loans!), I am going to do craft fairs.  I am extremely nervous about it.  However, Amanda has given me some good tips.  I won't actually do anything until Labor Day weekend, but I am trying to prepare now, since I will have NO time once school starts.  I found a website that will let me design (using one of their designs) and print business cards for FREE!! All I am paying for is the shipping.  I am pretty stoked about that!  My mom has a bunch of stuff she bought and doesn't use and told me I can have what I want, that is a huge help, supplying your stuff is the most expensive.  Anyway, all good luck wishes are appreciated and keep your fingers crossed I get stuff made and it sells.  I am attaching a picture of the business card, let me know what you think...I didn't delete any of my info, those of you that read this blog, already know my info.

Summer, Surgery, Vacation

Ok, so it has been awhile, sorry Stephanie...I'm just not as good as you. So, school ended, we hade cheer camp at Miss State and then I had foot surgery, good timing right. I have needed to have this surgery for awhile now, but I just have not had enough time to recover from it, so I decided this summer would work. The surgery was fine, but I have the adorable little boots that I have to wear with the surgical socks they attach to my feet brand new each week, precious I tell you, precious. The "boots" are black and the "socks" are white!! I seriously look like I am riding the short bus. Anyway I am 2 weeks down and I have about 4 to go, I am not sure if I have to wear these boots for the next four or what. I get the stitches out on this Friday, and I hope that means I won't have to wear the socks after that, I HATE to sleep with things on my feet, and I HATE wearing socks in the summer. I will say that normally people only do one foot at the time, but the doctor said I was a good candidate to do them both at the same time, honestly, I don't know if I would have done the other if I had to wait. However, I am not suppose to be on my feet very much at all, and that has been very difficult, it has cut into my shopping time...lol.

Vacation countdown is 4 weeks!!! I am very excited about it! We are going to Florida where Tim's parents rented a gorgeous house on a private beach for a week. I dread the drive, simply becuase I get so ancey, but it will be well worth it and Tim and I keep each other entertained. I am going to try and find the picture of the house and I will post it.

Birthday countdown is 2 weeks!! Yay, I think. Actually, I am not looking forward to this birthday, I will be headed on the downward slope to 30!!! I am just trying not to think about it.

Spring Break is gone already...

Spring Break was a total blast, but it went by way too fast!  My dad had meetings in Nashville this week, so mom and I decided to tag along on government money.  We spent many days shopping WAY too much, but it was fun.  I got some totally cute black and white polka dotted wedge heels.  I also got this interesting piece of artwork to hang in our kitchen, Tim liked it at first, but has since decided he no longer does...whatever!  I surprised some of the girls I worked with at the Waldron by going by to see them on Tuesday morning.  Leitte and I went to lunch and hung out for awhile.  I also got to see Larissa and have dinner.  It was nice to catch up with everyone.
Once again, like I do every time I go to Nashville, I came home and told Tim I was ready to move back.  It was my decision to leave Nashville and come to Memphis and while I don't regret it, I still miss it a lot.  My college friends are still there, the teachers I started my teaching career with are there, and 6 years of my life are there.  Maybe one day, Tim likes to rub it in sometimes that it was my choice to move here, however I think that if I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wanted o move back right now, he would.  I know how much he loves his job here and I don't have the heart to ask him to give that up for me to move back to my friends.  I mean I wanted to come back here to be closer to my family especially after my grandfather passed away and I was living up there.
Tim and I worked hard yesterday in the yard, we got all of the crab grass and weeds out of the yard and flower beds.  Tim put down Scott's Starter Fertilizer since we have newly sodded grass and some Pre-Emergent.  It felt good to get that all accomplished, now GROW GRASS, GROW.  Katey had fun eating the weeds until we made her go in since we were getting ready to put chemicals down.
I got some Spring cleaning done and got all the blankets and winter cuddling stuff washed, dried, and smelling fresh for next winter.  We have had a very productive weekend.
Oh, and one last thing, for those you that may or may not know, I have been trying to come up with a theme for decorating my scrap studio.  I have been leaning towards red, black, and white, but that requires painting all of the furniture.  I have an armoire in there that Tim does not want to have to move again, so I have a new theme...a day at the beach.  I am very excited, I already have lots of buckets that I use to store my supplies, the furniture can all stay the same color and all I have to do is ACCESSORIZE!! Which many of you know is my favorite thing to do!
Anyway, tomorrow is Easter and today we are going up to Bolivar to Tim's grandparents for a fish fry.  I hope I get some planning done on the way there.  I totally have put it off this week and I was too busy packing to move into the building that I didn't worry about it the week before.
Katey has enjoyed this warm, sunny weather this week too, and is ready for more to come.

SNOW!!!

Finally,

We got some snow.  I thought we weren't going to get any this year at all.  We even got out of school 2 hours early!!! YAY!!

I got home just as it was beginning to snow.  I took Katey out to see it, she doesn't remember playing in it last year, I don't think.  She sat on the porch and watched for awhile.  Later when we had a few inches on the ground she actually played in it.

Tim has to work tonight and I know I will worry about him all night.  People are stupid and are going to get out in this and then he will have to go help them.  Anyway I am attaching some pictures of Katey playing in the snow.  I hope everyone else enjoys the snow! Be careful!

The Deadline

The deadline for the yearbook was today, and guess who was not finished?  Yep, that's right, me.  I am not sure what happens at this point, our rep can never get back to me.  I have about half of it finished, but I will not be sponsoring yearbook next year.  It was a dumb idea that I had in the first place.  I did however, accomplish completing a scrapbook for my grandmother this week and I delivered it tonight.  She loved it!

My mother-in-law's birthday is today, yep she is a leap year baby.  We sent her a money tree and if it is good to her, we shall also reap the benefits.  Happy Birthday to her!

It's been almost a week now since I started Weight Watchers and all was good until yesterday when I stressed out about Yearbook.  That's ok, hopefully one day won't kill me.

10 days until Spring Break, and they will be the longest 10 days of my LIFE!!!  But that also means, only 10 days until we move into our new classrooms in our new building! Exciting, right?!?!  Yep, well besides that my life is rather boring these days, but I guess it is a good boring, is that possible?

I know, I SUCK at this!

Ok, So I know it has been a terribly long, long time!  However, in my defense I have been extremely busy.  I have the yearbook deadline this Friday and the stupid program works like crap!  I stayed home today because something is wrong with my heel, but no doctor can see me until Friday.  I am attempting to go back to work tomorrow, but I dread it. We didn't get our day off for the month of February and it is getting to me.  When most normal school systems get off for President's Day, we had stinkin' inservice.  And we have gotten NO, not one, zilch, zero, nada snow days this year!!!!!
For some news, I have started back on Weight Watchers.  Tim is sort of doing it with me.  I found out that I am pre-diabetic and if I don't do some serious revamping of my lifestyle and eating habits (which I didn't think were all that bad) then I am going to be added to the growing number of Americans with diabetes.
Tim and I have made the last payment on our credit cards, that is a wonderful feeling!!  It makes me VERY happy!

So, as I sit here with my glass of wine I decided to look back at all the wonderful memories made in 2007.  I also want to write down my goals of 2008, I have heard if the are in print, you are more likely to meet them.  Anyway here go the memories:

Liberty Bowl

The day following the President's Gala was the SOLD OUT Liberty Bowl.  I was there, to cheer on Miss State as a favor to a friend.  Just for you, Spain.  Mom and I sat in the stadium club while the boys had to freeze with the rest of the fans.  This was my 2nd year to sit in the stadium club, and let me tell you, that's the way to watch a football game!!  It was a blast, except the idiots who were suppose to be directing traffic after the game had no clue what they were doing.  Memphis needs help in the traffic department, but we all know that.  Speaking of football, it has been on at my house for a week now, is it my turn to watch some basketball yet?  That's ok though, I have been enjoying the time in my scrap studio.  Enjoy the game pictures:

The Gala

I was fortunate enough to attend the President's Gala again this year.  It was a blast! Taylor Hicks was the entertainment, and although dancing was encouraged, it was more like a concert when he took the stage.  I thought the girl in front of me was going to climb on stage with him, she was a tad ridiculous.  We had fun though.

Following...

Ok, so I decided to follow suit with the rest of the world, and begin blogging. I have tried this before, but never kept up with it and I don't even remember where the blog is at this point.
This was mine and Tim's first Christmas together as a MARRIED couple. It was wonderful! It was also our first Christmas
in our new house!! We had Christmas with my family at our house on Christmas Eve, I loved it!! I loved my new/old Christmas tree, it was my parents until they got a skinny one. However, this will be the only year for the big fat tree, my piano will soon take its place. We traveled to his parents on Christmas day, it was fun. The little ones were in present OVERLOAD, but it was fun to watch them enjoy it all. I must say however, I am glad to be done with it. We are still out of school and don't go make until the 7th, which is nice. I don't feel rushed to have the house back in order in such a hurry this time. I began working on my sis-in-law's b-day present tonight. I wish I could post pictures, but she will see it. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and amazing New Year! Here is to 2008!!
