SNOW DAY!!

Our Snow Day in pictures:

We took our 6 month picture...

Played in our exersaucer...

Played with Daddy...

We took a bubble bath!!!
Oh, and Mommy did some laundry and cooked a dinner that Daddy loved!!
**I took this idea from Katie over at Cleared for Takeoff -not our activities, just putting them in pictures...

Happy 1/2 Birthday!!

Happy 1/2 Birthday to our sweet Lyllian Grace! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!!

As I blogged about last month (after the 5 month pictures) we had to opt out of the paper signs, I had to add the text afterwards (obviously).

Lyllian Grace you are 6 months old today and here is what you have been up to lately:

-You have such a personality!! I am so glad you are a happy baby!

-You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to laugh and squeal-and you can do so quite loudly too.

-You roll ALL over the place now, and you are close to crawling.

-You have eaten carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, and just tonight you had peas.

-You love the nursery at church and we are very lucky to have Ms. Sarah watch you in there.

-You like to watch Sesame Street each day with Maw Maw.

-You love books!

-Your favorite toy is your lamb rattle.

-You have two teeth coming in and you are chewing on EVERYTHING!!!! including Mommy and Daddy.

-You wake up each morning such a happy girl and you will lay in your bed awhile and just talk and talk.

-You like to "pet" Katey-it's more like pulling on her fur and her ears, but she lets you. She gives you kisses when you try to pet her.

-There have been two snow days this year, but we didn't play in either of them-not to worry one day you will get to play in it.

-You are very well behaved when we go somewhere, including out to eat.

-You are such a good shopper and Mommy loves that!

We are so thankful you are part of our lives and love you more every day!!!

**I will update with her 6 month check up stats after this week. We go Wednesday for her check up.**

Bad, Bad Blogger

Ok, so I have been a bad blogger this week, with good reason: we are hosting the county basketball tournament at school and I am the co-chair of the committee. So the blogging is taking a hiatus because of early mornings and late nights. It ends Monday night, so blogging will begin again shortly.

Thank you for reading and please continue with your daily activities now...

What's For Dinner?

When Tim and I first got married I made out monthly menus. It worked great-there was never a question about what to cook. I love it! Then, I became the cheerleading sponsor and didn't get home until eight at the earliest, so I tried biweekly menus. It still didn't work out-it was too hard to keep up with and I never felt like cooking that late. I really enjoy cooking so I cooked when I could when we were out of school and didn't have practice. Then we got pregnant-and besides coming home late every night I was always exhausted!!! After Lyllian was born, I wanted to start back with menus, plus I wasn't staying for cheerleading so I am able to come home earlier each day. So, here is this week's menu at the Bogue's house:

Sunday-Spaghetti
Salad
French Bread

Monday-Chicken Fajitas
Spanish Rice

Tuesday-Fried Rice
Egg Rolls

Wednesday- Chicken Nuggets
Mac N Cheese
Veggies

Thursday- Vegetable Soup

Friday- Pizza
Salad

Saturday- Hamburgers
Home made Fries

We are trying to eat at home more in order to save money and having it already planned out makes it so much easier. I would like to say we are trying to save money in order to pay of college loan debt, which we are, but really I am wanting/trying to save money in order to buy an embordiery machine. Not sure we have saved much, but it has been nice to eat as a family when possible. Most nights I fix Tim's and have to leave it in the microwave for when he gets home. Anyway, enjoy what we are having for dinner this week!

So what kind of meals do you have as "go to" meals for weeknights? What is your favorite dinner to cook and what is your family's favorite meal?

Feeling Better

Look at this little girl that is feeling better and ready for church!!

That's all-short post-I know...

Wishful Wednesday

Wishful Wednesday
I know it is Thursday, but I didn't get a chance to blog yesterday and I still wanted to participate in Wishful Wednesday...
I wish I had the start up funds to build that company I have always dreamt about and it would be...
Plain to Pretty Designs
Actually I have already done some stuff with this. Basically, it is custom scrapbooks, picture frames, notebooks, notepads, etc. I have also done theme baskets. It really doesn't take a whole lot of money to start up, it takes time, and since I have a job that also takes time-well, you can see where this is headed. So I guess technically, I wish I had the funds to stay home and get this started...

Weekend Wrap-up

WOW! What a busy weekend!! We got to hang out with Megan, David, & Charlotte Saturday. Holly was over visiting too with little Cole. Charlotte loved the babies and wanted to show Lyllian all of her toys. We got one picture with all three little ones.

Sunday we heard a wonderful sermon. It was from Psalm about having pure faith. He really made you think. It was great to hang out with everyone from our Sunday School class today after church. We were sending Becky off, she is headed back home to NC. Her hubby is finally coming home from Iraq-I know she is so so ready for him to be back home!!
Mom and I were suppose to go to a baby shower today, but Lauren had her baby YESTERDAY!! I am so excited for her. I know they will be wonderful parents. We did send them a little happy today, UT booties and an orange bow (gotta get her bow collection started early-ha!)
Anyway, I hope you all have a great week this week-we are finally going to get some warmer weather here in Memphis.

Fancy Pants

Another mommy that I know through the "blog world" is starting her own blog design business called:

Is that not an adorable name for a business?!?!? Her blog is super cute too! Check her out over at Cleared for Takeoff! She is having a contest to give away a blog makeover. How cool would it be to WIN!! Even if you don't win, her designs are really cute and it is always awesome to support other mommies!

Sick and Tired

of being sick!!

I ended up catching a cold this past weekend and I am MISERABLE!! Thank goodness we live so close to family to help out with Little Miss Lyl. We had girls and guys night last night with our Sunday School class, and while I had a blast, I probably should've stayed at home in the bed. I don't have many sick days left this year since I took them all on maternity leave. Thank goodness my momma is here, she kept Lyllian Monday night so I wouldn't get her sick and my amazing grandmother is keeping her tonight. It sucks sometimes (a lot of times) to have a husband that works at night. I know it will get better, I just wish it was sooner rather than later. Oh well, off to take some Nyquil and try to get some sleep!!Sorry no pictures today of Lyllian, as I said I've been trying to steer clear of her. It is very hard though!!!

Lunch Date with the Long's

Our dear friends Megan and Rusty were in town visiting all the way from North Carolina. We were lucky enough to get to meet up with them this time (we didn't get to see them last time they were in town). We got to eat lunch with them today, unfortunately due to Tim's work schedule, we don't get to do dinners out together often. So, we settled for lunch at Macaroni Grill. We had a great time and got to catch up with them. Lyllian was wonderful the whole time and even fell asleep on her daddy. We really wish Megan and Rusty would move back closer to home, they are seriously considering it. Hopefully, something will happen soon.
Here is a picture of Little Miss Lyl with her "Aunt" Megan and "Uncle" Rusty:
After lunch, I met up with my mom and Dora to go see the movie It's Complicated with Meryl Streep. It was such a cute movie and I wish I had her house. I loved it!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from our family to yours! We hope you have a very wonderful 2010!
**On a side note, yes, Lyllian has on a Happy New Year barrett. I found it at Wal-mart and I knew she had to have it.

5 Months Old

Look at that BEAUTIFUL baby! I can't believe it has already been five months since you came into this world and changed our lives. Mommy and Daddy love you so much Lyllian Grace!

This is the last month we are going to be able to make a sign to sit beside her, the following pictures show you what happened when she discovered the paper beside her:

Hmmm, this looks fun!

I think I'll try to eat it.

Mommy took it away, so I'm outta here!

I would rather play with my bunny.
Lyllian Grace you are 5 months old and you have a lot going on in your little life:
*You are 27 inches long.
*You weigh probably close to 14-15 lbs.
*You are sitting up all by yourself now.
*You still love to watch Katey play.
*You normally wear 3-6 months clothing, but sometimes you wear 6-9 months because you are so long!
*You laugh outloud ALL the time!
* You like to play with Grammie's IPhone.
*You have experienced your FIRST Christmas loved it!
*You have no interest in crawling, but you want to walk so badly.
*You are still an excellent car rider unless you are hungry.
*You are great shopper and this makes Mommy very happy.
*You have really discovered the toys on you Exersaucer and love to play in it.
*You still sleep through the night.
*We started cereal and then carrots. We had to stop the carrots for awhile, the doctor didn't think you were quite ready.
*You sat in a highchair while we went out to eat one night and did great!
*Mommy & Daddy love watching you grow and discover new things everyday.

Merry Belated Christmas!

WOW! We have had a very busy Christmas break! I feel like I need two more weeks just to recover from these past two weeks. We had fun, but it has been exhausting!

We started the break by having lunch with "aunt" Susan. We met up at Bahama Breeze and Lyllian was very well behaved. We had a great time visiting with "aunt" Susan.

We started our Christmas festivities at Tim's dad's house in Trenton. Lyllian slept most of the time we were there, but woke up in time for presents. I think her favorite present from Grandma & Grandpa was a little pig that played O Christmas Tree. She thought it was the funniest thing ever.
We left Tim's dad's and head to my parents for Christmas Eve. Lyllian had a lot of fun watching everyone. I really thought she would love the wrapping paper, but she only liked it if it was smaller than her-ha! She of course received some wonderful gifts, including the book If You Give a Moose a Muffin. Grammie even got her the moose to go with it. Mommy & Daddy got a high chair, too. Uncle Adam gave Lyllian her first fishing shirt. He thinks she will be ready to go fishing this summer-we will see. Maw Maw gave Lyllian a new Jumping Exersaucer for her house. She got many more gifts, in fact I wasn't sure we would be able to make it home with all of it!
We started a tradition of getting new Christmas PJ's on Christmas Eve to wear to bed. This use to always be the one gift my brother and I got to open on Christmas Eve. Years later, when Adam and I weren't obessed with opening something on Christmas Eve, mom still gave us our PJ's to wear. Lyllian got to open hers and wear them this year.

Santa came to visit Little Lyl and brought her more great presents. Her favorite is in her stocking, it was a new teething ring that is soft, she loves it. She has also enjoyed her Praise Baby DVD that was in her stocking. My parents, brother, and grandmother came over for Christmas morning breakfast and to see what Santa left. Uncle Adam had the most fun playing with Lyllian's toys. He claims he was just trying to show her how is all worked-yeah, right!
We had a delicious breakfast of Paula Deen's French Toast Casserole and Sausage Casserole-it was YUMMY!

After Christmas morning at our house, we headed to Tim's grandparents in Bolivar. I think Lyllian had too much Christmas, she fell asleep at the table on Aunt Carla. Tim's family does a fun tradition with the kids since there are so many of them. They draw names at Thanksgiving so we aren't buying for all of them. EXCEPT, if it is your FIRST Christmas, everyone buys for you and you don't have to buy for anyone. We, well Lyllian, got to take part in this tradition this year. The adults play dirty Santa with Christmas ornaments. We had a great time!
The Sunday after Christmas, we went to Tim's mom's to celebrate in Camden. We had a great time and Lyllian loved her toys. She got a wagon ( I didn't think anyone had gotten her one, and I really wanted to have one), which I loved. She also got a game that shoots balls out of the stop, this was probably her favorite, she kept pulling it over on her and the air was blowing in her face. It was fun to watch her. We played Catch Phrase while there and I realized just how competitive Tim really is!!!-WOW!!!

I told you it was busy!! I also went shopping the day after Christmas, it was exhausting, but I got some great deals!!

Below is the picture in front of the tree of Lyllian and Katey, it was an experience just trying to get them to sit and stay still. This was the best of all of them, and we took PLENTY!!

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas with your family & friends! We did, but man I'm exhausted!
