Weekend Wrap-up

I hope y'all had a great weekend! We did! We started the weekend off with a cookout Saturday night. My brother, who calls himself the Grill Master, grilled some shrimp, ribs, a boston butt, and some chicken. It was delicious!!! Lyllian was so good while everyone was over. Sunday we went to church and then swimming. Lyl LOVED swimming!!

After a day at the pool, I ended my Sunday with a Girls Night Out to see...

And yes, it was WONDERFUL!!! I loved it and I can't believe it was only at No. 3 in the boxoffice over the weekend. In other news, Lyl turned 10 months old Saturday, I'll update that later.

We leave for Mexico in one week from today, so naturally I have already starting packing. This is the first time we have traveled with Lyl. Any suggestions on what I need to make sure and pack? I know the basics, food, formula, diapers, swim diapers, etc...Tell me your suggestions.

Doesn't that look breathtaking??? We are so excited!!!

Mother's Day Weekend

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there. This was my first mother's day and it was truly special! Lyllian sent me some BEE-U-TIFULL flowers with her daddy's help. She also gave me a beautiful heart necklace and ring. We grilled out Saturday with my parents to celebrate. Sunday after church we all went to lunch and then Tim put together Lyllian's wagon. She LOVED her wagon, we walked around the neighborhood while Tim fertilzed the yard. Later this afternoon we went to the park and Lyllian slid down the slide with LOTS of help from her daddy. She had lots of fun. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and did not get to take any pictures at the park or with her wagon. While giving her a bath Saturday night, Lyllian tried to eat the bubbles, it was so cute, but of course as soon as we got the video camera out, she quit.

9 months

Precious Girl
Lyllian Grace you are 9 months old now and a very busy girl! Mommy and Daddy love you very, very much and are enjoying your new discoveries everyday. Here is what you are up to:

*You weigh 19lbs and 6oz

*You are 27 1/2 inches long

*You are wearing size 3 diapers

*You are wearing size 12 months clothing

*You are wearing size 3 shoes

*You go to bed around 7:30 each night and sleep till 7:30 or 8:00 the next morning

*You eat three meals a day

*You still take 3 bottles a day of 8oz each

*You love fruit and veggies

*You love to walk behind your lion walk along

*You climb on EVERYTHING!!!

*You have said "Dada"

*You have tried to say "pretty"

*You are starting to say "dog"

*You still haven't said Mama yet, but I am hopeful that it will happen soon.

I never thought I could love you more than I did when you were first born, but I am honestly amazed at how much you have accomplished in your little life and I love you more and more everyday!

8 months running late

Lyllian-you have been 8 months for a few weeks now, but Mommy keeps forgetting to post about you. I don't have the pictures on this computer, so I will make an edit later.

There is a lot going on in your little life right now.

*You will not let Mommy put a big bow in your hair anymore.

*You will still wear the little ones.

*You LOVE bath time and you love to play in the water.

*You like being outside and going for walks.

*You like to swing and now you have your very own outside swing.

*You crawl everywhere and are in to EVERYTHING!

*You are very interested in Katey's food and water bowl.

*You are eating food three times a day and taking a bottle three times a day.

*You are wearing size three diapers.

*You are wearing 9-12 month clothing.

*You like to watch Veggie Tales, but only the theme song.

*You love music.

*You will pull up on the coffee table or ottoman and dance if we play music.

*You follow Katey everywhere she goes.

*You babble constantly.

*When you wake up in the morning you "talk" to the ladybugs on your bumper pad.

*You like to play your little piano.

*You have become quite the shopper and Mommy hopes you continue to like shopping.

*You had your first passport photo made.

*You have had your first St. Patrick's day-don't worry you didn't drink any green beer-ha!

*You don't like your exersaucer anymore unless you can stand on the outside of it and play.

Whew! That made me tired just listing it all! We can't wait to see what happens next, just don't grow up too fast, please!

Milk, Cookies, and a Safari

It's not my boy though...

Last Saturday, I hosted a baby shower for a girl in my Sunday School class. We had a blast, the theme was Milk and Cookies, but we added the Safari with it. I had such a good time planning and getting ready for this shower. I did make the banner and sent it home with Ashley (the mother-to-be) so she could hang it at home when little Logan finally arrived.

I always think everything is all about the details, so I added the little giraffe to the tulle bow I made for the rocking chair. We were able to save it too, I think it will go on her Diaper Wreath for the hospital.

The Cookies and Milk tablescape, yes I learned that word from the Food Network, Semi-homemade to be exact. I loved the way it turned out. The milk carafes are perfect and I am so glad to have found a galvanized tub (on the paint aisle of all places).

A close up of the cookies, gave them all a "Safari" name like Crocodile Bites for Ginger Snaps.

And last but not least, every little boy needs his own blocks with his name on them.
